We love combining our passions for interior design and artistic vision to create distinctive interiors reflecting the personality and goals of each and every client!

``We evaluate and plan. We mold and create. We budget and crunch. We color and inspire . . . always with out client's purpose and goals foremost in our minds. Our mission is to successfully provide exceptional and comprehensive services to keep our clients moving forward and ahead of the pack!``

The creation of worlds that reflect active life and work styles is passionate, artistic work. It is work we enjoy, from the conception of an idea to the story that evolves through interaction with real life. Though good design never happens without inspiration and imagination, great design celebrates reality as well.

What really inspires you?

I’m a member of Zonta which focuses on women helping women and girls through service and advocacy.  These Sanibel and Captiva club ladies are a tremendous inspiration for me.  Rachel Hollis (Rise podcast) has inspired me this year to dream big and go after it all.  If you don’t have it, go buy her book “Girl Wash Your Face.”  I also listen to Jenna Kutcher’s Goaldigger podcast at every opportunity.  She pumps me up and always teaches me something I can use in my business.

What's the most fulfilling about what you do?

When an idea or a theme really starts to formulate into a real design. The “Ah!” moment when you know it’s right. It’s a real adrenalin rush.

What's the biggest misconception in your profession?

When an idea or theme really starts to formulate into a real design.  The “Ah!” moment when you know it’s right.  It’s a real adrenalin rush.

Who is your ideal client?

The ones who collaborate with me and challenge me.  The relationship is key and you have to develop a clear and common goal.  Client qualities?  Vision, trust, openness and respect.

What's the biggest misconception in your profession?

The best projects are ones with ample time spent in the programming and schematic design phase.  A vast majority of a good designer’s time should be spent with the client figuring it out, drawings until it works, then going over every detail ensuring that the client falls in love with it once again every time they walk in the door.

What are you especially passionate about?

The longevity of what we design and construct.  I like to see new uses for old products and find it inspiring to think about products and interiors that can be refreshed and rebuilt so they’ll be useful twice as long.  I’d like us to get away from the “it’s easier to throw it away and buy new” mentality.  There’s often such character and inspiration in the original.

What's the most fun about your job?

I learn something every day!  I’m surrounded by smart people. . . clients, colleagues, product geniuses, my family.  They inspire and challenge me to do more and help more.

How do you spend your free time?

Other than watching my daughters grow up, I am a travel and photography nut.  I love to “go” every chance I get.  It’s hereditary.  I get it from my mom and my daughters already have it from me!

What advice do you have for young designers?

Involve yourself in as many creative aspects as you can.  Paint, weld, sew, construct, get dirty, be hands-on, travel and record things that move you.  Remember to make the “idea” and it’s execution emotional and don’t let it become merely a job.  Continue to be enthusiastic and never give up.

Marla and her team did a complete remodel of my kitchen in my Sanibel home. She worked with me during the entire process. Beginning with the layout of home, selection of appliances, lighting fixtures, cabinet and countertop designs. She has excellent knowledge of local vendors including their pricing and quality of merchandise. I loved the end result of the look she created for my home.
